Coat hair with lemon juice. Apply heat; if the day is hot enough you may not need to apply heat. Wait several hours, or at least until the juice has dried, and wash. This may or may not do anything for black hair, but it works well on light or medium tones. You may want to avoid it if your hair is already dry.

Chamomile tea is sometimes recommended for lightening, but it does not work very well. (It is good for softening the hair, though.) Some people recommend an infusion of marigold leaves, but I have no experience with that.
