We need Paul to remind us that healing can only be an holistic process. It is too easy to slip into the 'cure it quickly' mentality which pervades our society.

However there is often hidden virtue in what might appear to be purely symptomatic treatment with herbs, for example using relaxing herbs to help us reconstruct a healthy sleeping pattern.

Vervain, either the Verbena officinalis or Blue Vervain V. hastata, was used in traditional medicine to induce a dreamless sleep. It is not a strong sedative but more a mild relaxant and nerve tonic. It is also used as a kidney restorative, a fever herb, for liver cleansing, protection against demons and strengthening eyesight.... I could go on.

It facilitates letting go and is thus an ideal herb for getting over stressful bits of life.
