Well. Horehound is very bitter. My horehound candies are good if you like a hint of bitter - I use 1 part each of horehound, thyme, monarda and hyssop. If you detest any hint of bitter then no, there is no horehound syrup that is actually palatable.

I happen to like the taste of Horehound, so I find this recipe quite palatable.

1/4 cup Horehound herb
1 cup water
1 cup honey

Boil the Horehound in one cup of water until ~1/4 cup of the water remains (must press it out of the herb). Let it cool slightly, strain and mix with honey.
