Tonsillitis, Rigis Os.

Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis will be cured in two or three days by the application of one or two drams of sol. subsulphate of iron, with glycerin, q. s. one ounce. Brush on every three hours. Many cases of chronic enlargement will also be cured by this treatment and the liability of "sore throat" several times a year, terminated. When internal treatment is needed I use ¼ to 1-drop doses of tincture aconite or 1 to 2 drops green extract of phytolacca.

Rigid Os

I have relaxed a rigid os in labor by rectal injection of ½ dram fluid extract lobelia repeated in half hour. The action was as prompt as that of chloral.
