Preparation.—"Extract of arnica root, three hundred and thirty grammes (330 Gm.) [11 ozs. av., 280 grs.]; resin plaster (contains lead), six hundred and seventy grammes (670 Gm.) [1 lb. av., 7 ozs., 277 grs.]; to make one thousand grammes (1000 Gm.) [2 lbs. av., 3 ozs., 120 grs.]. Add the extract to the plaster, previously melted by means of a water-bath, and mix them thoroughly"—(U. S. P.).

Action and Medical Uses.—A stimulant, useful as an application to painful or sprained joints, chronic rheumatic pains, weak back, etc.
