|Lobelia, in powder||6.00|||||420||grains|
|Anise Fruit, in powder||12.00|||||1 oz. 402 ½||gr.|
|Tea Leaves, in powder||6.00|||||420||grains|
|Oil of Eucalyptus||1.00|||||70||grains|
|Potassium Nitrate||to 100.00|||||to 16||ounces|
Mix the oil with the powders, adding the potassium nitrate last.
This powder is used several times daily, as may be necessary, for asthma. About half a teaspoonful is pressed by the fingers into the shape of a cone, which is then lighted at the top; the patient inhales the fumes is the powder burns. Pulvis Lobeliae Compositus is a similar preparation.
