Powder the jalap resin, and triturate it with the tragacanth; then add the tincture, glycerin, syrup, and caraway water in the order given. As the official extract of jalap varies considerably in strength, the resin of jalap is used in preparing this mixture, with tragacanth to suspend it.
Dose.—4 mils (1 fluid drachm) for a child one year old; or 30 mils (1 fluid ounce) for an adult.
