Sodium Bicarbonate 2.28 | 200 grains
Gentian Root, cut small and well bruised 1.14 | 100 grains
Rhubarb Root, in coarse powder 0.45 | 40 grains
Ginger, in coarse powder 0.23 | 20 grains
Peppermint Water to 100.00 | to 20 fl. ounces

Macerate the gentian, rhubarb, ginger, and sodium bicarbonate in 100 (20 fluid ounces) of peppermint water for twenty-four hours; then press out the liquor, strain, and pour sufficient peppermint water through the strainer to make up the required volume.

Dose.—15 to 30 mils (½ to 1 fluid ounce).
