Mistura Sodae Composita, B.P.C. Compound Soda Mixture.
Synonym.—Peacock's Stomachic Mixture.
|Sodium Bicarbonate||2.28|||||200 grains|
|Gentian Root, cut small and well bruised||1.14|||||100 grains|
|Rhubarb Root, in coarse powder||0.45|||||40 grains|
|Ginger, in coarse powder||0.23|||||20 grains|
|Peppermint Water||to 100.00|||||to 20 fl. ounces|
Macerate the gentian, rhubarb, ginger, and sodium bicarbonate in 100 (20 fluid ounces) of peppermint water for twenty-four hours; then press out the liquor, strain, and pour sufficient peppermint water through the strainer to make up the required volume.
Dose.—15 to 30 mils (1/2 to 1 fluid ounce).
