Phyllanthus. Phyllanthus Niruri L.—Ottow isolated from this widely distributed euphorbiaceous plant phyllanthin, C30H37O8, which crystallizes in colorless needles, is intensely bitter, insoluble in water, but soluble in alcohol, petroleum benzin, chloroform, and ether.
