Phenol 3.00 | 131 grains
Glycerin 10.00 | 1 fl. ounce
Tragacanth, in powder 2.50 | 1/4 ounce
Distilled Water to 100.00 | to 10 ounces

Dissolve the phenol in 80 (8 fluid ounces) of the water; then mix the glycerin with the tragacanth, add the aqueous solution gradually with constant trituration, and make up to the required weight by the addition of distilled water.

This paste is used as an antiseptic lubricant for catheters.
