Preparation.—Take of pimento, bruised, 14 ounces; water, 2 gallons. Mix them, and distill 1 gallon—(Br.). Or it may be prepared in the same manner as cinnamon water, on page 247, using oil of pimento instead of oil of cinnamon. A brownish resin separates on standing.

Action, Medical Uses, and Dosage.—Used in flatulency and weak digestion, in doses of 1 or 2 fluid ounces.
