Tobacco is fully described under Narcotics, but still it merits a passing notice under the class of Sedatives. Tobacco greatly depresses the action of the heart and arteries. It is rarely used for purposes of this kind. In cases of high excitement, spasmodic action, etc., it may be used. It is mostly used in the form of enemata. As it is so fully described under the class of Narcotics, we shall not extend our remarks here, but refer the reader to that class.
