Jatropha. Jatropha macrorhiza Benth. Jicama.—This is a euphorbiaceous plant which inhabits Northern Mexico and the adjoining United States. It is a purgative, acting excessively in overdose, and is believed by the Mexicans to be cholagogue. The dose of the fluidextract is stated to be from one-half to two fluidrachms (1.8-7.5 mils).
