Gum Mango. Mangifera indica.

Botanical name: 

Gum Mango.—This gum, which is obtained from the mango tree, Mangifera indica L. (Fam. Anacardiaceae), occurs in the Indian bazars in amber-colored or reddish-yellow lumps, almost transparent, with a brilliant conchoidal fracture, 39.4 per cent. of which is soluble in water. (See J. P.
