: > I was diagnosed with having several fibroid tumors in my uterus a year ago, and the three doctors I saw all recommended a hysterectomy. Being only 36, I am not ready to have an operation, however I am having quite a lot of problems dealing with my body now. I bleed constantly because of the tumors, and even though my doctor has me on depo-provera, it has not helped much.

: Raspberry leaves are a uterine tonic. There are several Raspberry herbal teas that are very helpful (and taste good too). The one I like best has Fo-Ti in it also and rose hips and hisbiscus (I think ginger and cinnamon too) which are all good for hemorage conditions.

In addition to Raspberry, Chaste Tree Berry (Vitex agnus-castus) is THE herb of choice for uterine fibroids (and endometriosis). I haven't been diagnosed, but I believe that I have a small fibroid, and the dose that I take is two droppers-ful of the simple tincture twice a day. That is a little on the high side (and it tastes AWFUL), but I figure it's worth it if it helps my problem. From what I've read, it takes roughly two to six months for the effects to be strong, but often the changes effected are permanent. Read David Hoffman (The New Holistic Herbal), Christopher Hobbs (Vitex: The Women's Herb), Rosemary Gladstar (Herbal Healing for Women), for their take on the situation. good luck...
