>Can anyone please help me with an herb that will help with acne flareups? I don't have it real bad but when I do, it annoys me and it looks bad and I can't use the acne medications they seel in stores because they irritate my skin.

Fresh Cucumber and Beet juice have given a great deal of relief for this type of occassional flare-up.
You might want to give this a try (You have a juicer, I hope) <grin>!

For topical application, I have found that soaking gauze in the juice is the most effective. Good Luck!

I had a wonderful thing happen after decades of not severe but annoying acne.
I was taking zinc for a cold, and noticed my face cleared up. Upon researching zinc, I found that this made sense: I had somewhat of a deficiency, probably from being a vegetarian.
I know, of course that this is not an herbal remedy, but I was so excited to discover this, I thought I'd share it.

Fresh Aloe vera gel applied once or twice daily is excellent, especially if you have oily skin.

Just a note on acne. In researching the section on drug-resistant bacteria, I ran into stories about acne bacteria becoming multi-drug-resistant. The dermatologists are running out of options. (Enter herbs, stage right.) Isn't that a cheery thought! Zits for life! Wonder if the same holds true for diaper rash? People may not think they might catch pneumonia or have to experience an operation, but never-ending zits could really catch people's attention. Scary.
