Hi!

In response to your question about bladder infections, I saw some of the other posts responding to your question and they all seem to be heading in the right direction. Often times a persistent and consistent bladder infection is a sign of candida. Not only have I personally suffered with candida, but I have in turn treated many individuals with this condition. Unfortunately, in this society of magic bullets and instant cures many of us spent a great deal of our growing up years on anti-biotics and other synthetic treatments, because we didn't know any better. What we didn't know then is that the anti-biotics not only kill the bad bacteria but they also kill the good bacteria, the kind that our bodies need. They also terribly suppress the immune system and cause existing infections to mutate in order to combate the invasion of anti-biotics and then we get infections that are termed "anti-biotic resistant". If you ever want to get really in depth information on the damage caused by anti-biotic therapy you can pick up a book called "The Plague Makers" by Jeffrey A. Fisher, M.D. it is fascinating, but quite technical, definately what I would call "heavy reading".

Anyway, I just need you to know that there is hope, candida is very treatable although sometimes the treatment can be quite lengthy. Usually you can consider aprox. 1 month of treatment for every year that you've had the problem. Which direction to head, find yourself a naturopath or herbalist with good knowledge of this condition and stick to the program. There will be a great deal of dietary changes to be made in addition to herbal treatment programs. In the meantime, for your bladder infection - get yourself a full gallon of cranberry juice (Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Cocktail is fine) and drink the entire gallon in a 24-hour period. This will cause a major flushing of the entire urinary system (don't get to far from the bathroom). Some people don't want to do this because they don't like cranberry juice or whatever. If this is the case, try dandelion root or uva ursi to help flush your system.

Hope this helps!
