>Hi, sorry if this is on the edge of "on topic" but we figured people here would know and we've tried almost everywhere. My girlfriend is into herbs/aromatherapy and hates the perfumy smell of scented baby powder. Does anyone know where we can obtain pure talc which she can scent herself?
Even better--Mountain Rose Herbs makes a body powder made up of mineral clay, arrowroot powder, and corn powder (essential oils optional). They also make one for baby that has a few more things in it. Talc can clog pores and rather defeat the purpose of the powder. I have been using this blend for about 6-7 years now and am very happy with it. Actually I'm happy with everything I've bought from them.
Just a happy customer

Instead of talk try combining corn starch and baking soda. Very smooth and absorbant. Also helps combat BO and great for diaper rash/shafing since it doesn't matt as much when exposed to moisture like talc can. Also talc can cause respiratory problems in infants and some adults as well as clog pores.
I just bought powder from aroma vera that contains cornstarch, powdered sandalwood, sandalwood fragrance and vanilla absolute.
You can make your own by powdering fragrant herbs/petals (rose, lavender, jasmine, orange blossom, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, etc) in a spice grinder or mortor and pestle. Then mixing the herbs with cornstarch/soda and a few drops of essential oil.
