Carnipe?

Blog categories:
Botanical name:

A friend emailed: she'd gotten seeds of a Bolivian plant.

I got a twig in leaf (no flowers). The leaves are less than 3 cm (1") long and less than 1 cm (1/4") wide.

My friend gave me two names for this unknown: carnipe, and guilguiña (or giulguiña). And she asks for a latin name. I've looked in lots of places, and frankly, I don't have a clue. Would any of you know? Here's a photo of the plant:

Update 24Nov05: it's Porophyllum ruderale, commonly called quillquiña.

It's used as a spice, and it's in the Asteraceae.
