One helpful soul recommended a blend of chickweed and parsley (she did not say in what proportions, so I assumed equal parts) and another suggested licorice root. I am giving the chickweed and parsley infusion a try, but have not yet been taking it long enough for any effects to be noticable.

Chickweed is a soothing, heat clearing liver and urinary herb. Parsley is a diuretic. Both are good.

Licorice is and interesting choice for weight loss. It works to calm nervousl stress to the adrenal system and is very sweet so it satisfies need for sugar.
The only possible problem would be with heavy useage it can make you retain water. It is used in chinese medicine to harmonize the central energy and is known to cause abdominal swelling due to water retention. So use it and be knowledgeable about it's desire to hold water in the tissue and abdomen.

Another herb for weight loss is just good old green tea from china. Ching cao in chinese. Green tea aids digestion and helps with the metabolism of oils. It has caffein but is very different from the contracting focuing effect of coffee, green tea is a little stimulating and more expansive. It clears the mind and the digestion.
