Gingko only seems to be of benefit when memory difficulty is secondary to vascular insufficiency. This is why it is used post CVA (stroke), and in the elderly with memory difficulty. Giingko improves blood flow. For this reason it is also used in some caes of impotence.

Have been using gingko for about six months for one of the conditions of fibromyalgia, which those of us who have it call "Fibro Fog". Can't remember names, words, where we left something, why we went into a certain room, get lost driving, put your glasses in the referigerator and can't figure out where they are. That type of thing. It gets really bad!!!
After about two weeks of gingko, there was noticeable improvement. Tried it on my mom who has alzheimer like problems and it helped her too. Just be sure and get the 24% extract Ginkgo.

Scientific studies have shown Ginkgo to increase memory from 8 to 15%. I've been using it for about 10 months and would confirm that research. However I don;t take it everyday, I find every other day is just as effective for me. When I took it everyday I would get a mild headache after 5 or 6 days continued use. This it not saying it will give everyone a headache with continued use. Try it everyday and if you start getting headaches cut back to every other day.
